I am excited to share with you that I will AGAIN be traveling to Uganda on a mission trip, and will be leaving for 12 days in July!

During the March trip the Lord used me in some amazing ways! I met a young girl of 14 years of age named Susan. She had lost her father to illness and has a family member and friend who both have AIDS. She had high hopes of finishing her education and becoming a lawyer! After an extensive talk that lasted an hour, I suggested she talk with the nurses on our team. Later that day Susan returned to the clinic and we talked with her, she had told us her mother could no longer afford her education and she likely would not be able to finish the year and her siblings would be removed from school as well, so we prayed over her and she went on her way. I just found out that the nurse we were talking with, Courtney Lavey, is now sponsoring Susan to finish her schooling and her family has the opportunity to be sponsored as well, all because of the conversation I started! I can’t wait to see how the Lord uses me this July!

We will be working with a team of doctors and nurses to assist in medical care, malaria treatment and HIV testing.  Also, we will be working with children in schools, feeding homeless youth in the Kampala slums, praying with families for healing, and assisting the staff at a brand-new pro-life and pregnancy clinic. These are just a few of the exciting opportunities we will have to share and show the love of Christ. As you can imagine, I am excited to play even a small role in this mission. We see this as an international expression of our local call to be bridge builders and ministers of reconciliation to Christ.

Babies will no longer be born in the slums. They will get care at our Latter Glory Medical Clinic, and their mothers will be free from prostitution and poverty. We will empower the poor and restore the brokenhearted through the power of Jesus Christ and the support of GO teammates like YOU!!!
